Where You Should Post Your Blog

A few weeks ago we talked about the lead generation power of blogging for local businesses. It’s a very powerful tool when it comes to getting people’s attention before they need you. They subscribe to your blog, and then you have a chance to market to them along the way. It’s a great tool to generate leads!

Last time I told you why you need a blog. But what do you do with your blog after you get it written?

1. Put it on your website:

The first thing you want to do is to make sure your blog is on your website. I know this may seem like a given, but not every website is built to have a blog section. Some people have to write a blog and put it on a third-party website that’s not their actual website. So, first and foremost, make sure that your blog is actually on your own website. I’m not a web designer by any means—I have a great web designer who did my site. That said, I do recommend WordPress because it’s very simple to navigate and to add different admins and users onto it so that they can add content and help you to manage things. But however you do it, you want to direct people to your website, so you want your blog to be on your website.

2. Put it on your social media platforms:

After you’ve written your blog, post it to your social media platforms, like Facebook and Twitter. Make sure you’ve got a great picture and headline to go with it. This gives you more reach because you have a website does not mean that people are magically going to appear there! You have to drive people to the blog, and then to the rest of your website.

3. Email it:

Take the blog content and email it to your email list! This is so important because your potential customers check their email all day, every day! So if you can get into your subscribers’ email box, that’s fantastic!

Bonus Tip: Capture more leads with it

At the bottom of each blog post, you want to have a call to action button. Something as simple as: “Get a Quote” Or “Schedule an Estimate”.

So in a nutshell, you want to make sure your blog is posted to your website, you want to put it out on social media, you want to make sure you’re sending it out to your email list, and then further growing your email list because your content is so wonderful that your customers will be hanging on each and every blog post!

I hope this helps you generate some more referrals! And as always, if you need blogging because you don’t have the time, please give me a call!
